General Hospital fans love when things work out for everyone, but that’s not always what happens for them. Things take a turn for the worst so often, and it’s not always a good situation. But we think that there is a lot we can learn from the people who work here, live here, and show us how to live here. We do have a lot of favorite moments over the years, but there are only a few that stand out to us as being so good we cannot even control ourselves. There is so much we might imagine can happen around here, but only so much of that fits. What are your favorite moments from the show over the years?
The Wardrove Malfunction
No, not that one. Though Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake did make us stop and our jaws drop that one time so long ago at the Super Bowl during halftime. Before that, there was another moment back in 1994 at the Nurses’ ball. It turns out there was a time when Lucy Coe was destined to have a moment that would haunt her with embarrassment for life. She was just minding her own business when she was suddenly give a chance to change her own life. That moment occurred when she was changing her dress behind the curtain at the ball when the curtain opened and everyone was able to see her standing there in nothing but her underpants. It was awfully funny.
When Jason Changed His Personality
We all know that Jason Morgan is the kind of man who has a lot of issues with his memory. He can never seem to live his own life the way it’s meant to be lived, and we might have forgotten he’s not really Jason Morgan. Neither was Drew, either, but that all seems to be a quickly forgotten situation. There is so much here we can’t even imagine, but this is one of the best moments of all. Remember when he was actually born and raised as Jason Quatermaine? Well, that all ended for him when he was growing up with the hope of following in his father’s footsteps to become a doctor. He was involved in an accident when his own brother, AJ, was drunk, and it wiped all his memories. He woke up with no idea who he was, and he became Jason Morgan. And that was the end of an era, and the beginning of one of our all-time favorite characters to ever grate the show.
Robin’s Diagnosis
You can’t talk about General Hospital without this being one of the most iconic and memorable moments ever in the history of the show. This is the moment that might even take the cake over the moment when Luke and Laura got married (the first time, of course). She was a young teen, very much in love with Stone. She was happy with him, even when he was diagnosed with AIDS. She was by his side, and she was crushed and heartbroken when he died so young. He was the love of her young life, and her life was changed from that point on. But there was no other moment in the history of the show quite like the one in which she was tested for HIV.
And found out she was positive. It was a pivotal moment, and it was one that world could relate to at that time. It was only something people were openly discussing at times that they felt it was comfortable. It was a mysterious illness that people associated with things that made them very uncomfortable, and it was not something people fully understood at any point in their lives. When she was diagnosed, her world was turned upside down and everything changed. But she managed to handle it like a champ, and she made some big changes for the show. It was one of the most memorable and iconic moments, and it was handled with delicacy, honesty, and so well we can’t even handle it. And we will forever remember that moment as one of the most touching in the history of this iconic show.
