General Hospital fans are going to see Maxie suffer even more before she departs the show. She feels stupid and foolish, and she’s not sure what to think. She allowed herself to spend time with this man who turned out to be the half-brother of her dead husband, and she’s not happy that she was duped into thinking they were friends or even something more down the road. She’s missing Nathan and his loss in her life more than ever right now. She’s not happy, and she’s looking for a way out of her current situation. She’s so unhappy right now that she can’t focus on the health of her baby or herself. She’s so devastated and feeling so stupid.
She’s going to deal with more feelings of betrayal, which seems to the be theme of her life this year. She’s felt betrayed more than once by all the people in her life. She’s going to have a long road ahead of her, and she’s just not sure she can sit back and allow this to continue. We think she will take off on her own accord rather than die at the hands of someone else when she departs. Her desperation and her upset feelings are going to keep us feeling that way for a long time. She’s so devastated by the way things have worked out for her, we have no doubt that’s precisely what will happen for her. She won’t be around much longer at all at this point.
Maxie’s future is uncertain other than we know she’s not coming back. The show hasn’t announced a long-term situation, they’ve only confirmed she will be gone for an undetermined amount of time. She will not be back for a while, but that doesn’t mean she won’t eventually come back and spend some time taking her life seriously outside of work for a while. She’s got a lot going on, and she might not want to come back.
