2. She grew up another state on the West Coast

Even though she was born in California, she didn’t grow up there. Not that she really has anything to complain about, because she did grow up in Washington State. When it really comes down to it, she spent a lot of time on the West Coast, a place that she has come to dearly love.

3. She was homecoming queen

During her senior year at a high school in Port Orchard, Washington, she was voted homecoming queen. She had always been a rather popular student, and this was what many considered to be the perfect way for her to cap off her high school career.

4. She started acting soon thereafter

About three years after she graduated from high school, she started acting, with guest roles on television shows like Diagnosis Murder and Sliders. She even had a guest role on an episode of Star Trek: Voyager. These early roles gave her an opportunity to showcase her talent and she took the opportunity and ran. Since then, she’s been busy with one project or another almost constantly.

5. It took awhile for her movie career to take off

Even though she did exceptionally well in her earlier roles on television, she wasn’t immediately offered a movie role. In fact, it took about five years from the time that she started acting in television until she finally landed that coveted role on the big screen. It was in the movie Dungeons & Dragons and it helped to solidify her career as an actress.

6. She’s a mom

In 2013, she and her then husband had a son. She takes motherhood very seriously, placing it above her career and all other things.

7. She’s divorced

She got married in 2012, then had a son a year later. She and her husband separated a year after that. They decided it was time to get a divorce, which was ultimately finalized in 2016. Not only did she decide to get a divorce, but she also filed for sole custody of their son.

8. She’s practically a regular on the Lifetime Movie Network

Over the years, she’s done so many movies for this network that you can expect to see her more often than not on the channel. She’s done a whole host of movies for them and it’s not at all uncommon to see her name involved in new projects that this particular network is involved with.

9. She likes to stay busy

If you haven’t already guessed by now, she doesn’t like to have a lot of down time. Instead, she far prefers to stay busy and work on a consistent basis.

10. She likes to learn new things

She’s always game to learn something new. In fact, she routinely puts herself outside of her comfort zone because that is one of the best ways that a person can grow and learn. It may not be the most comfortable thing in the world, but she fully realizes that the benefits usually far outweigh the risks. The truth of the matter is that she probably wouldn’t have been as successful in her acting career as she has been if she weren’t willing to put herself out there and take a few risks now and then. This is a lesson that everybody can learn, as nothing ever changes unless a person is willing to change their own habits.
