The development of a great film starts with a great script and storyline. A case in point is Men in Black, which is arguably one of the best media franchises, which is based on American author Lowell Cunningham’s comic book. The franchise is about a non-governmental organization working covertly to monitor and regulate alien activity on earth. It does that while still preventing the civilian population from learning about its activities. The Franchise includes three films so far, with Men in Black Reboot being the fourth film that is based on Cunningham’s work. Missing Stars: Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones
We will not be seeing Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black Reboot. While Sony has given no official explanation on why they dropped them, it could be they just want to take advantage of new talent. Smith and Jones starred in the same roles in the first three films of Men in Black.
New Stars: Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth
In place of Smith and Jones, we are going to have new two stars from Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth, who have already proved to have a great chemistry when they appeared in Thor: Ragnarok. While talking about the project, Hemsworth said that he hoped the film was going to be nothing but “epic and fun,” and it will feature new locations from the previous three sequels.
New Locations
When speaking during the AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR red carpet, Hemsworth said that they are aware they need to fill some big shoes, and added that they are working hard to achieve that goal. Fans should therefore expect to see different cities from the ones they seen so far. It will therefore be like an international team working together to control an possible alien invasion. Overall, it will be interesting to see how other cities react to an alien invasion.
Laurie MacDonald and Walter F. Parkes
Sony retained L. MacDonald and W. F. Parkes as producers, while Steven Speilberg is coming back as an executive producer, while David Beaubaire will be overseeing for Sony. Retaining the two producers will balance out the effects of casting new the stars from Thor: Ragnarok, which will give the film a new taste as well as what the fans like in the previous three films for Men in Black.
New Director – F. Gary Gray
Gary Gray, the filmmaker of Fate of the Furious, will direct the Men in Black Reboot, while Iron Man’s screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Holloway wrote the Reboot’s script. Sony set the film for release on June 14, 2019. We hope that will give them enough time not to rush the production, but instead give it their very best.
Overall, there is a lot to expect from the new movies, and we can only wait to see what Sony has in store for us this time. Keeping in mind that a film can only be as great as its cast, we expect Thompson and Hemsworth to fit into Smith and Jones’ shoes, or even surpass them in order to give fans what the very best.
