Ilana Glazer kind of strikes one as the kind of person that isn’t idle but still takes life at her own pace which is something interesting to note. She’s not the biggest star in the world but she seems content to be a known face and name. There’s always the desire to keep the spotlight as much as possible and at this moment she’s been working hard enough that she’s become a known celebrity and someone that people can recognize walking down the street.
So she’s moving in the right direction at least.
5. She started out doing improv in New York City.
This seems to be where a lot of people get their start and perhaps for a good reason. If you can make it in New York as an actor, comedian, or any type of celebrity then the chances are good that you can make it anywhere. Glazer has been gaining in popularity for a while now and has done just about everything she can to build from the base she started when she was with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in 2006.
4. She’s been in show business since 2006.
Glazer isn’t a newbie since she’s been in the business for over a decade but it’s a testament to just how hard it can be to really get noticed. Some people work their whole lives and never get more than a passing glance, while folks like Glazer might work just as hard and catch a lucky break as she’s done thanks to her efforts and determination. Even if she doesn’t rise to megastar level it’s still enough that she’s been recognized by so many.
3. She majored in Psychology at New York University.
It’s funny but a lot of people still look at actors as being uneducated for some reason. People don’t seem to realize that a lot of people don’t just step into acting from off the street as used to happen back in the day. Actors do have to possess something of an education in order to really understand and get into their work. Plus, having an education and being an actor can come in handy as it gives the person that much more to work with as an intelligent individual.
2. She received four nominations for her part in Broad City.
Glazer wrote and starred in Broad City and managed to nab four different nominations but didn’t win. This is okay really since the act of being nominated means that she was noticed. That in turn means that people are watching her and obviously agree that she’s worth paying attention to and giving enough credit that she’s been considered one of the best in the business. It sounds horrible but sometimes not winning can keep a person’s passion alive just a bit more as there’s something more to strive for.
1. Her filmography isn’t all that extensive yet.
She’s done a fair amount but still not as much as you would think is possible in all her time spent in show business. Of course as it was mentioned above she seems to be going at her own pace, and she’s still relatively young so there’s a lot of time left for her career.
The chances seem good that we’ll be seeing her around for a while.
