“The Last Kingdom” Season 3 Will Be Available Exclusively On Netflix

For those ‘The Last Kingdom’ fans who weren’t sure of what to do with themselves when the series ended on BBC Two, you can rejoice once again. It has recently been announced that Netflix, who had been working on the show has a co producer before, has taken full charge over the series, bringing it back to life once again for fans everywhere to see. We have seen other shows get a breath of fresh air on Netflix, allowing for the continuation of some true fan favorites, and in this article, we are going to give you all of the details that we know so far about ‘The Last Kingdom’ season 3. Where It All Began

Fans were first able to watch the ever popular series ‘The Last Kingdom’ (as we mentioned before) when it made its debut on BBC Two. The series is based on the Saxton Stories novels that are written and created by author Bernard Cornwell, and the television series abruptly made its end just about a year ago, to the disbelief of many fans all across the globe. At the time, Netflix has been signed on as a co-producer of the series, along with BBC Two, after BBC America had backed out of the project. Now, Netflix has taken full swing of rebooting the series once again, and there is quite a bit that fans can expect to see when season 3 roles around.

What Season Three Has In Store

As fans eagerly anticipate ‘The Last Kingdom’ Season 3, we can all expect to see many of the familiar faces that were in the show previously, including Emily Cox, David Dawson, Ian Hart, and Tobias Santelmann, to name a few. In fact, the announcement of the series coming to Netflix was actually made by Alexander Dreymon, who played the Saxon warrior Uhtred of Bebbanburg prior to the shows cancellation. The newest season of the series will pick up basically where it left off, and will follow the quest of Uhtred to once again recapture his native land of Bebbanburg, and getting rid of the Danish that had captured the land in the first place. Fans will be able to expect a lot of action and suspense with the new season once it begins streaming.

Although the announcements were made just recently, ‘The Last Kingdom’ season three does not have an exact release date yet in terms of when it will be available to stream on Netflix. However, we know that the wait will definitely be worth it, and we will eventually get to see all of the familiar faces that we have come to know with the hit series. Either way, it is for sure that the series will be making its debut on Netflix before the year is over, which is music to our ears.
