Well now everyone can calm down and realize just why Chris Evans is sporting a mustache finally. He just made his Broadway debut in a production called Lobby Hero, a story in which he plays a cop named Bill who’s one of the most manipulative individuals in the entire production, meaning he’s probably the most successful. Evans stars with Michael Cera and a host of other notable actors in this debut and has already been lauded as one of the better parts of the production. You would think a guy just stepping onto the stage after so long in the movies might have a least a couple of jitters, but apparently Evans did an awesome job.
One thing a lot of people are saying however is that the mustache simply needs to go. It not only ages him horribly but it’s just not the right look for a guy with his looks. At least that’s what people say. A lot of folks don’t seem to mind when Evans has some scruff going on for his character, or the fact that as Captain America in Infinity War he’ll be sporting a full on beard and mustache combo. But of course that’s a completely different character and circumstance, whereas a cop in a play is something that might warrant a completely different look for a completely different type of production.
If there’s any wonder about Chris Evans at the moment it’s what he’s going to do once he’s done being Captain America. That question is coming up soon as the close to the star-spangled hero’s saga is starting to come to a close. It’s already been stated that he’s going to be in Avengers 4, but after that it seems like he’s going to be hanging up his suit for good and calling it a day. The person that could step into his shoes has yet to be decided as far as fans know but there are a lot of options that people would like to consider. It almost seems that by stepping onstage Evans is already announcing his intentions to do something different when he finally moves away from the superhero role. What that might be could be anything really since he’s a talented actor and has shown several different personas throughout his career thus far that have depicted the kind of range he has. It’s going to be a huge adjustment to not seeing him in the MCU any longer, but since we already know how that goes there’s always a chance that a cameo could happen here and there just to tease people into thinking that he might come back.
His tenure in the MCU is pretty much finished however as the story arc is reaching its big crescendo as Captain America begins the transition from being one of the most iconic heroes into being something like a faded memory that people can remember fondly. In other words Captain America in his current form has run his course and someone else will need to take the reins in order to carry the shield. Chris Evans will be missed, but his career won’t be over.
