While they may not be the biggest thing in the US, Little Mix has been making hits in the UK since their discovery in The X Factor back in 2011. The pop girl band is famous for their sultry styles and powerful vocals, and the favorite in the group is also the oldest one: Jesy Nelson. The 21-year old singer auditioned for the show without realizing where it was going to take her in the future. Here are a few facts about Jesy you probably didn’t know.
Drama girl
No, it’s not to say Jesy’s a drama queen in a sense that she creates conflict and confrontation. Jesy’s a drama queen because she loves the theater and was a dedicated drama student back in the days. She even attended professional theater schools. The experience definitely paid off now that she’s constantly on the spotlight.
Lucky seven tattoos
Jesy has seven tattoos, most of which are script. She has them scattered throughout her body–one on her wrist, another on her thigh, and some more on her arms. She also has a skull and rose tattoos. We know she’s a fan of body art, and whether or not she’s got more tattoos is unknown at this point. While she may not talk about her ink, the ink themselves may speak for her. One of her tattoos say, “Music is the strongest form of Magic.”
The next Spice Girl
We’re pretty sure she’ll answer the call if it ever happens. While she didn’t always fancy herself to become a full-fledged musician despite her talents, she always looked up to one of the most successful musical groups that came out of the UK. Jesy is known to be a huge Spice Girls fan. She proclaims the iconic group to be one of her inspirations for becoming a musician and her all-time favorite as well. Come to think of it, Jesy channels much of the Spice Girls flair–maybe a little bit of Ginger here and a little bit of Sporty and Posh there. We can’t blame Jesy for it. We’re big fans too.
Beat boxer in the making
She may not be an accomplished beat boxer but she sure does have the talent for it. Jesy’s shown us her skills a few times in the past, including during her time on The X Factor. It’s amazing to be able to hear her belt out a tune one second and then flip a switch to bust out a beat like a pro.
Harry Potter days
Okay. So she may not have been Hermione or Jenny Weasley. At least Jesy can say that she was literally a part of the Harry Potter franchise in some way. Jesy appeared as an extra in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She played one of the hundreds of students that stood there cheering on the school champions. No one would’ve probably even recognized her then, but she was there. That’s more than any of us could say for ourselves. At the very least, she’s able to use her acting chops somehow.
