We all love to watch something out of this world, because not only interesting, but it also engages our minds. That’s why science fiction movies have been such a great success. They give us an alternative view of thing that could be, which we find to be insightful and fun. It’s therefore no surprise that most movie fanatics are expecting to have lots of fun with the new Annihilation movie. To make sure their fans have more fun as they wait for the movie to debut in cinemas, Paramount Pictures along with Skydance decided to launch the Annihilation viral site. Users visiting the site will be able to unlock footage they haven’t seen and even create their own coded messages.
Users who want to decode a message must copy the message without a tweeter hashtag, then paste it in the decoding text box provided at orthosethatfollow.com, the message will then be decoded and the user will be able to view the Annihilation footage. Once a user views the footage, they will be allowed to create their own coded message, as well as the decoded message.
Finally, they will be allowed to tweet transmissions they have created for others to get an opportunity to decode them and view the footage, as well. A sample of the coded message that can be decoded can be found on Twitter. While the viral site will be fun to use, it will help to popularize the movie to a bigger audience.
Annihilation is about Lena, who is a biologist as come back after well as a former soldier. She is on a mission to find out what happened to her husband who didn’t come back after going into Area X. Area X is an extraterrestrial phenomenon that has occurred along the American coastline, and it’s expanding across it. Once Lena’s expedition team gets inside, they discover a different world from the one they are used to seeing.
In there, all they see is a mutilated landscape with creatures that are mutilated yet they continue to live. Overall, they realize that they are facing a new world that’s as dangerous as it’s beautiful. They feel their very existence as well as their sanity is at stake.
Alex Garland directs the film, which is based on the best-selling Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer. The film stars Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason, Oscar Isaac, Gina Rodrigues, Tuva Novottny, and Tessa Rhompson. It will premiere in theaters on February 23, 2018. The movie rights of the complete 2014 Trilogy belong to Producer Scoot Rudin of Paramount Pictures, after he acquired them from Jeff VanderMeer. Annihilation was the first of the Trilogy to be published on February 2014, followed by Authority in May 2014, and finally in September 2014, Acceptance was published.
We hope that you look forward to watching Annihilation as much as we do. We expect it to be filled with intrigue and capture the moments in the book, better than we have already envisioned them. Coming from a best-seller, we expect it to be as fun and engaging as Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
