Brett Eldredge is an American singer and songwriter who had three of the singles from his debut album Bring You Back make it to the No. 1 position on the Billboard chart for Country Airplay. At this time of year, it is interesting to note that Eldredge is a huge fan of Christmas, which is why he has released a lot of Christmas songs, with an excellent example being a cover of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” that he sang in collaboration with Meghan Trainor.
Here are five things that you may or may not have known about Brett Eldredge:
He Is a Chicago Cubs Fan
Eldredge is a fan of the Chicago Cubs. However, this is not something that he became following the Chicago Cubs’ unexpected World Series win in 2016 but rather something that he has been since his childhood. This makes sense because Eldredge’s hometown is Paris, which is to say, not the French metropolis but rather the county seat of Edgar County in the state of Illinois, meaning that the Chicago Cubs would have been the natural favorite for a baseball fan like him.
He Loves His Home
Speaking of which, while Eldredge has since settled in Nashville, he still loves his home. For proof, look no further than what he named his dog. In his own words, Eldredge came up with a number of names based on a number of sources for his dog, but in the end, he decided to name his dog Edgar in reference to Edgar County. This is part of a pattern for Eldredge, as shown by the fact that he named one of his albums Illinois for his home state, which serves as a way for him to remember his roots.
He Has a Cousin in Music
It is interesting to note that Eldredge has a cousin who is a musician as well. Said cousin is a member of the six-piece bluegrass band called The Grascals, which started up in 2004 and has continued performing to the present. For those who are curious, the cousin provides vocals while playing guitar along with another member of The Grascals, though he has played bass in the past for other bands as well.
He Was Inspired by Frank Sinatra
Frank Sinatra might not have been a country singer, but he is nonetheless one of the most iconic American singers in American culture. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that Eldredge drew a great deal of inspiration from Sinatra when it came to shaping the classic sound of his vocals. With that said, this inspiration extends to Eldredge’s favorite drink as well, which happens to be whiskey on the rocks.
He Loves Zaxby’s
Most of the time, Eldredge is something of a health nut when it comes to his food. However, he has made an exception for Zaxby’s, which is a Southern US fast food chain that specializes in chicken fingers, chicken sandwiches, milkshakes, and other delicious but perhaps not so healthy menu items. In fact, Eldredge has even appeared in a Zaxby’s commercial, which saw him fighting his friend and fellow country singer Thomas Rhett for a Zaxby’s salad.
