‘Married at First Sight’ is reality television series where couples take part in an experiment to see if it can really work if you get married at first sight. The format is based on a Danish television series and couples are matched by experts before meeting for the first time at the altar. They then get married and go on honeymoon before moving in together and sharing their lives as a married couple. There are versions of this series in Australia, the UK, and the United States. The launch date for season six of the United States version of ‘Married at First Sight’ has recently been revealed. Here is what we know about this season so far.
Who is Taking Part?
As in the previous seasons, there are six couples taking part in this year’s experiment. As in previous years, these couples are matched by the show’s experts who decide if they are compatible according to their personality traits, their hopes and aspirations to life, their attitudes relationships and family, and what they find physically attractive in a potential mate. The names and details of those selected for season six have not yet been revealed. However, this season is taking place in Boston, so it makes sense to assume that those participating will live in this city or the surrounding area.
What is the Format?
This season will follow exactly the same format as the previous seasons. The participants are filmed talking about what they want from the experience and telling their families that they are taking part in the series. The couples then marry and go on honeymoon together, all of which is filmed for the enjoyment of the viewers. After the couples move in together, they will face all the challenges that a married couple face while also having to learn about each other. At the end of the experiment, they must decide if they want to stay married or get a divorce.
Who Are the Experts?
The experts play an important role in the show as it is they who match up the couples. They use their knowledge and expertise in their particular fields to find couples who they truly believe are compatible and have the potential to maintain a long-term and loving relationship. This season’s experts are sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, psychologist and professor Dr. Jessica Griffin, and marriage counselor Calvin Robertson.
Are the Couples Likely to Stay Together?
Whether or not the couples selected will stay together after the series ends remains to be seen. However, the show has not been that successful so far in finding successful matches. Of all the couples who have taken part in the last five seasons of the series, only three are still together. Hopefully, Season 6 will bring viewers some true love matches.
