Stephen Colbert is definitely not shy when it comes to speaking his mind about the current POTUS and what he believes to be a long line of faults and miscues. In fact he’s drawn a great deal of criticism from Trump supporters that see him as yet another detractor from a president that is attempting to make America great again by focusing only negative aspects that are reported by “false news”. I kind of think we’ve all gotten a little tired of anything making the president look bad being labeled in this manner. In any case, Colbert will be incorporating an animated Donald Trump series eventually. Here’s what we know so far.
The show is going to focus on Trump and pretty much anyone that exists within his orbit.
This means anyone that has anything to do with him, interacts with him, or is currently within his reach. The show isn’t going to let anyone off the hook as far it concerns Trump and will be using current events in order to increase the veracity of the cartoon and how it is viewed.
Colbert might not be attacking the POTUS, but his need for satire is going to explore new and possibly controversial territory.
There’s obviously no love lost between Colbert and Trump, but the mere fact that this cartoon is set to run is enough to indicate that the current POTUS has become a man that is not only easy to ridicule but has gone to such extremes that many feel the need to take actions that might seem a bit edgy and even dangerous. While a satirical series such as this is not a threat in any way or a means of defamation it is a very solid statement on how those who create the show and those who produce it feel about the current POTUS. One thing is certain, you can expect Colbert to pull no punches when it comes to speaking to the cartoon Trump.
The full cast has yet to be decided.
It hasn’t yet been figured out just who will be on board with this project and how many individuals will be featured in the 10-episode show. Each episode will only be a half hour so it is reasonable to think that if there is a large number of cast members they will not get a lot of screen time. The fact is that the show is about Trump and will likely focus around the POTUS and whatever material the writers have come up with for this satirical bit.
In the world of politics and comedy it seems likely that one will always seek to outdo the other but that both will eventually compliment one another in some obscure or obvious manner. Colbert isn’t going to take it easy on the POTUS and if Trump gets his thumbs to working once again we could either be seeing a Twitter response bordering on a temper tantrum of presidential levels or we could see another few dozen people being blocked for having an opinion about the show.
So in other words, Trump will come off looking ridiculous yet again if he chooses to respond.
