The Top Five Lawn Mowing Scenes in Movies

Mowing the lawn usually seems so innocent until you see it in the movies. Then it gets downright hilarious and even terrifying. Most people don’t look that great when they’re mowing the lawn. They have shorts on, no shirt, too small of a shirt, etc. But mowing the lawn is such a common, everyday thing that you don’t think much about it until you really take a look at other people doing it. In some cases it’s nothing much to look at, but in others it can a spectacle all on its own.

Here’s a few clips of people cutting the grass and not seeming to worry about what others think of them.

5. Step Brothers

Remember what I said about not caring what people think? Well this is an opposite occasion in which the brothers are doing their absolute best to insure that the people looking at the house are as turned off as possible. It’s a different way to go for certain. I’m sure that both brothers could have come out naked and elicited just as much of a response, but something about living in the same neighborhood as a Nazi fanatic and a Klansman just doesn’t seem that kosher.

4. The Lawnmower Man

Sometimes people are better off the way they are. Job was simple-minded to be certain, and his life was anything but perfect. Using him as a test subject however was perhaps of the worst things that the good doctor could have done. As his mind continued to absorb the limitless amount of knowledge that he’d been denied for so long his humanity started to slip away until almost nothing remained. He’d have been better remaining the local yard boy.

3. Forrest Gump

It seems like this would be the life. Having the fortune that Forrest had and never having to work again does seem nice. Plus, he had a fulfilling hobby that he didn’t mind and could do with relative ease. For all the limitations he was born with Forrest certainly turned out alright. Something tells me that the high school didn’t exactly lament the fact that they didn’t have to pay him for this service. In fact they might have believed they were getting the better part of the deal.

2. The Benchwarmers

Don’t chuck rocks at lawnmowers. It might ding the blade a bit but the instant that nature-made missile comes flying out it’s going to achieve maximum velocity in a very short amount of time. If you’ve ever been hit with something as simple as a pine cone when it rockets out of a mower then you know what kind of force you’re dealing with. A rock is a little more compact and a lot less forgiving when it hits. Just ask Richie.

1. Final Destination 4

You’ve got to love how each Final Destination movie just sets up each death right before it happens. “I’ve got my eye on you!” she says as she’s speaking to the boys. As if fans of the movies couldn’t guess what was about to happen next. You see the mower about to go over a rock in the next frame and then of course, without hesitation, it flies true and straight towards her face, taking out her eye and a good chunk of her skull. Death certainly as a good aim.

Lawnmower scenes vary just as much as anything, they can be funny, horrific, or just as simple as can be. It all depends on the movie.
