Here’s What We’re Expecting from the Rest of The Jim Jefferies Show

Jim Jefferies is an Australian comedian known for his biting political humor and caustic delivery.  Jefferies was born in Perth, Australia and had a brief start to an opera career. His real name is Geoff James Nugent and he was announced as “Godfrey Nugget”. He realized his name wouldn’t get him far so he changed it to Jim Jefferies. Jim found his calling in stand up comedy. He uses his acerbic wit to deliver some of the best lines in comedy.

Jefferies’ stand up career included performances at comedy festivals around the world. He gained international attention when a recording of his show at the Manchester Comedy Store went viral. Jefferies routine is filled with jokes that some may find offensive, and a patron of the club got on stage and punched Jefferies. The incident was great for Jefferies because he really got noticed.

Jefferies appeared in a low budget Australian movie and on a podcast with fellow comedian Eddie Ifft. Jim Jefferies scored a show on FX, “Legit” which was short lived. His new show, “The Jim Jefferies Show”, premiered on Comedy Central June 6. He is just one of the late night shows that will tackle the abundance of political humor available.

Here is what we can expect from “The Jim Jefferies Show”.

Caustic Political Humor but not all Trump

Jim Jefferies is well known for his biting humorous take on political and controversial issues. There is plenty of material for Jefferies to pull from right out of the news. Don’t expect to be overwhelmed with too much political comedy. Jefferies admits that the current political climate in America is ripe with material, and Jefferies isn’t too concerned with oversaturation. He will include jokes about current events. The beginning of each show will feature timely news stories with jokes. Jefferies won’t go overboard until the end of the show when he delivers jokes in his usual acerbic style. Jefferies has said that it seems ok to joke about American politics in America but would never take those jokes into other countries and vice versa. Don’t worry that “The Jim Jefferies Show” will be oversaturated with jokes about the United States President, however. Jefferies has many more issues to tackle.

Travel

Jim Jefferies is going to take us on a trip around the world each week. To take a break from American political humor, Jefferies promises to look at controversial issues throughout the world. He has already traveled to the Netherlands, Slovenia, the Great Barrier Reef and China. Jefferies has a great ability to simplify complex issues through his comedy, and he intends to expose some of the crazy hypocrisy in areas of the world. For example, the ultra liberal Netherlands has a tradition of wearing “blackface” at Christmas celebrations. Jefferies will explore the idiosyncrasies around the world in his hilariously caustic comedic manor.

Surprise Guests

Based on the premier of “The Jim Jefferies Show” we can expect to see some surprise celebrity guests. Brad Pitt showed up for the first show as a charming weatherman predicting a very bad forecast following President Trumps decision to withdraw from the Paris Agreement. Pitt has always been an advocate of protecting the environment, and it was funny when Jefferies asked him about any future weather forecasts and Pitt responded “There is no future.” We hope to see more surprise celebrity appearances.
