Boxer David Benavidez Scores the Knockout of the Year

I’ve seen plenty of boxing knockouts in my lifetime but when someone scores a spot on perfect punch it always surprises me.  But I think in the history of my watching boxing or even just boxing highlights I’ve never seen a boxer deliver a combination as on target and as lethal as this.  David “Red Flag” Benavidez displayed what could only be described as “video game skills” during the 8th round of his fight with Rogelio Medina. Medina went flying out of the ring, and ultimately lost the fight, when Benavidez landed a brutal 7-punch combo.

When you watch this clip you’ll even want to slow it down as Benavidez’s hands are coming at a speed I haven’t seen since Meldrick Taylor was around.   Seriously I haven’t seen a combo like that since the movie “The Power of One.”  It’s astounding that not only was the combo attempted but that every punch connected.

It wasn’t one of the best one punch knockouts I’ve ever seen but as far as combinations go it’d be tough to find one better that scored a knockout like this one.
