People forget that in Step Brothers this is the scene that introduces Adam Scott’s character. How amazing is that? Seriously? There’s no better way to come out guns blazing in a movie then having an entire family sing “Sweet Child of Man” A cappella. But if there’s one thing I can’t stand in this scene, and I’m quite certain it’s by design, it’s the little annoying son Tommy with the great voice. I mean I think it’s supposed to be great. I just know it’s annoying as hell. For those of you interested in this young man’s name it’s Lurie Poston. Turns out Lurie is an actual singer in addition to being an actor. He’s currently 20 years old.
Poston began his career in the cast of the Broadway Musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, acting in over 300 performances. In 2003, he had a small part playing a young main characters in the film Girls Will Be Girls. Poston played in the 2007 film Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and he as mentioned, played Tommy Huff in the 2008 film Step Brothers with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly.
Poston had a starring role as Joshua Dowd in James Vasquez’s 2008 award-winning feature film Ready? OK!, with Carrie Preston and Michael Emerson. Poston recently appeared in the 2010 film Knucklehead. In November 2011, Poston guest-starred in the season finale of Workaholics, playing Damien Carmichael.
Poston is currently a student at the University of Southern California.
Here’s a music video that’s awfully irritating.
