Scorpion: Team Plans Quintis Party. Walter Remembers Rocket Confession.

Scorpion

Living in another city or country takes time. One needs to adjust to the unfamiliar surroundings and learn to adapt. Though if one were to live in space permanently, then perhaps it’s not such a good idea. On this week’s episode of Scorpion, the team heads to a desert to fix a malfunctioning reactor in a Mars biodome. Walter also begins to remember his hallucinations while he was stuck up in the rocket on the third episode.

The two scientists, Sal and Jen, were like a futuristic version of Toby and Happy. They started out as a loving couple, determined to complete the experiment in the name of science. Though after living together in the biodome for eleven months, hatred took the place of happiness. It’s like the wake-up call that Quintis needed to ensure that they don’t end up like Sal and Jen after tying the knot.

While we’re on the subject, the moving scene where Sylvester and Agent Gallo turned onto the street where Happy’s apartment building is amused me greatly. The two were supposed to help Toby move, but Sylvester backed out of helping at the last minute. Agent Gallo then came up with a lame excuse that backfired when he drove the party bus right past Happy and Toby. Oh, that gave me a good laugh. The scene at the end of the episode where Team Scorpion schooled the math magician was great. It was a bit high school bully-ish, I admit, but it’s still interesting to watch the group of geniuses display their intellect.

With regards to the Mars biodome, I half-expected a fancy, high-tech establishment like something out of the Waverider from Legends of Tomorrow. Looks can deceive when Toby, Happy and Walter arrived at the dome and saw that it didn’t look very high-tech. In fact, it was far from it. At least Kapper Industries got its just desserts. Mr. Kapper’s dreams of getting the multibillion-dollar contract from NASA went down the drain. That’s what you get for false advertising and faking results! Wake up and face the karma, Mr. Kapper!

This episode also triggered major memories for Walter. The genius finally remembered his hallucinations on the rocket. The rest of the team tried to play it off as such, but Walter was adamant. He recalled kissing imaginary Paige and telling her that he loved her. My heart broke for him because Walter was vulnerable in that moment. Everyone knew that he poured his heart out to Paige and didn’t feel the need to tell him about it. That vulnerability is a part of him you don’t see every day.

I completely understood why Walter fired Paige the way that he did, saying that her work at Scorpion is good, but the team no longer requires her services. He even went as far to say that she has a new job at Richard Elias’s company, but it’s so unnecessary. This decision not only effects Waige but the entire team. Paige and Ralph are part of the Scorpion family, and to break up said family is beyond wrong. I get that Walter is hurting, but there’s no need to fire the liaison. I’m sure that the team would have their opinions on the matter when May rolls around.
