All of us know Mark Cuban in two main spheres. The first is as the owner of the Dallas Mavericks. That’s initially how Cuban became a celebrity. Cuban was rich well before being the owner of the Mavs but he wasn’t “famous.” Once he became the owner Cuban changed the way owners operated in the NBA. Players loved him because he treated them like goal. After all, Cuban was really a fan at heart. His rebelliousness with the “establishment” has always earned him headlines and Cuban’s persona landed him a spot in the second sphere we know him from: Shark Tank.
As one of the leading six sharks on the show, Cuban’s investment prowess is always on display as he muffles through the decision making process. His answers are always genuine, entertaining, and even emotional. And for that reason, I’m gonna have to say “yes” to Mark Cuban. What does he attribute much of his success and foundation in life to? On Sunday Cuban said, “being Jewish has given me a foundation for everything I am and everything I hope to be,” the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
According to the report, billionaire businessman Mark Cuban made this assertion during a question-and-answer session at the Adelson Educational Campus’ 13th annual “In Pursuit of Excellence Gala,” held at The Venetian in Las Vegas. At the event, Miriam Adelson – wife of Jewish billionaire philanthropist Sheldon Adelson – said of Cuban that he is a “good person with good values, though he is totally opposite of us in his political views.” Cuban was the recipient of this year’s Dr. Miriam and Sheldon G. Adelson award for his work in technology and startups.
I’m not a religious person at all. I’ve never pretended to be. However, I will say that I’m Jewish and growing up with a sense of community certainly helped me in my life. Look, whatever gets it done gets it done. For Cuban, his Jewish identity has obviously helped him figure out who he is, so more power to him.
