You might remember Kyrie Irving sparking some serious controversy over the All-Star break because of comments he made related to the Earth’s shape. Irving thinks the Earth is flat. Without getting into too much detail he’s “read a lot” and doesn’t think that we’re all being told the truth. This sparked an internet explosion of people making fun of these statements and then coming back to Kyrie with scientific evidence. You know, stuff like:
Since the earth is rotating (see the “Foucault Pendulum” experiment for a definite proof, if you are doubtful), the consistent oval-shadow it produces in each and every lunar eclipse proves that the earth is not only round but spherical — absolutely, utterly, beyond a shadow of a doubt not flat.
But it didn’t end there. Draymond Green came out and admitted that he thinks the earth is flat as well. While Lebron James didn’t agree the earth was flat he even came out and said he respected what Irving’s beliefs were.
And guess what? There’s now another athlete that believes the world is flat. AJ Styles thinks the world could be flat as well. So now we’re looking at three professional athletes who think the world is flat. I’m guessing more will come out of the woodwork and thus again proving that 2017 hasn’t been a real year yet. I refuse to believe that one day of this year has been an actual, factual day. It’s all a dream folks. One of these days we’ll wake up. Right?
