I knew it. Don’t let me say “I told you so,” but come on, I think we all knew we’d be disappointed. It’s what The Curse of Oak Island has been doing to us all season. Just when you think you’re going to get a crumb, it’s nothing more than air. In what was a hugely hyped 2 hour finale that promised a “big reveal” and a ton of clues, viewers were left with the same bad taste in their mouths they’ve been getting all year. “When are we going to get some answers?”
After all the digging. After all the searching. After going down as deep as they went. What did they find? It pains me to write this. They found a button and some metal debris. Not only that, it took 2 hours of the finale to get there.
While the show is clearly wearing out fans, the Lagina Brothers aren’t exactly thrilled either. A season 5 is very much in the air considered how much time, resources, and money was put into season 4. So, considering that at least some fans are starting to tire of the show, and considering that the brothers have already devoted far too much time and money for far too little reward, can Curse of Oak Island continue for much longer?
My guess? As long is it brings in ratings, of course. They’ll spend the entire offseason promising a big find and we’ll be all wrapped up in this again.
