Ever since Melissa McCarthy first stepped onto Saturday Night Live to play Sean Spicer there’s been a whirlwind of requests for celebrities to play various roles in Trump’s cabinet. Even celebrities have stepped out saying they’d be willing to play particular roles. The two most popular volunteers of this week were Rosie O’Donnell offering to play Steve Bannon and Christine Baranski offering to play Betsy DeVos.
Clearly SNL was akin to what was going on this week so they decided to blow it up a little and make it a little ludicrous. Instead of having a realistic impersonator for any of Trump’s cabinet members they created a brilliant documentary type segment with none other than Leslie Jones and her quest to play Donald Trump.
Needless to say it was perfect. Saturday Night Live is rolling right now and they have Donald Trump to thank for it. When this administration is all said and done I think by far the one outlet who will have benefited most from a Donald Trump presidency is Saturday Night Live.
