It’s been over a decade since Faith Evans has released any music but we have a feeling it’s going to be well worth the wait.. Evans has announced a new duets album titled The King & I that will feature unreleased vocals from late hip-hop icon Notorious B.I.G. The album is set to release two days before Notorious B.I.G.’s birthday on May 19. According to EW
“I remember telling Ms. Wallace years ago that one day it would be really dope if I could do something similar to Natalie & Nat King Cole’s Unforgettable,” Evans notes in a statement. Knowing the love that B.I.G. had for Tyanna & Ceejay, I feel it’s my duty to uphold & extend his legacy, especially his musical contributions. This project is my creative reflection of the love we had & the bond we will always have. I’m elated to share this musical journey with our fans!” she continues.
Two songs from The King & I have been released on Spotify including “When We Party” featuring Snoop Dogg and “NYC” featuring Jadakiss.
Faith Evans was married to Notorious B.I.G. AKA Christopher Wallace from 1994 until the time of his death in 1997. At the time of his death the two were separated. This will also mark the first time that new recorded music featuring Wallace’s voice will be released in years. Since his death Wallace has become somewhat of a legend in rap. His story has been told on television, on screen, and in music.
Fans are ecstatic about the news and the new songs on Spotify are already racking up millions of listens.
