It’s a brand-new year and a brand-new episode of Days of Our Lives brings some serious change to the people of Salem. The parties and the glam are now over, and it’s time for these people to face the realities of their lives. Chad and Abigail shared a night of passion as they should, being married and all. However, it seems they won’t last very long in their new bliss. It seems Chad just can’t get over the fact his wife faked her death and left him and their son devastated for so long while she hid out without any responsibilities, and he’s still harboring some feelings for Gabi. Will he make a decision to go back to the woman he thinks he’s falling in love with even though she lied to him, too?
Rafe is also doing something to make his own life a little happier. The woman he loves is in jail, and he’s not doing anything legal as he finds a way to get into the prison to see her. He wants to spend time with her, and he wants to tell her that he has some good news. He’s sharing with her the news that Stefano might just be alive, and she might be freed sooner rather than later. She’s ecstatic, and these two share some seriously sweet moments together.
Now that the confusion, the excitement, and the other feelings are out of the way, it’s time to discuss the loss people have face din the new year. Jade and Joey are young, and they are expecting a baby. Except they’re not. Jade miscarried the baby she was carrying, and she shares the news with a devastated Joey. He is beside himself with grief over the loss of the baby he never met. He’s had a year that rivals so many things, but devastation and loss is not something he’s gone without. He’s been in a place that’s not good for him for quite some time, and he’s unable to get over it. Now this. It’s a terrible situation, but we have a feeling that Joey’s parents won’t feel so devastated by the fact their teenage son won’t be a father.
