Chicago P.D. Preview: Intelligence Unit Could Lose Its Leader

Chicago PD

When Chicago P.D. returns for its 4th season, their most fearless leader will be so off track it could jeopardize the entire Intelligence Unit. The team has been conspicuously known for bending the rules in the name of protecting the city of Chicago, but last season a line was very deliberately was crossed. In the season 3 finale Sergeant Voight lived his worst nightmare when his son was murdered. Inconsolable with grief, Voight appeared to have taken his revenge by murdering his son’s killer. Neither his unit nor his superiors are going to turn a blind eye to the suspicion surrounding Voight’s actions. There is only one person who could possibly get through to him.

At the beginning of the third season, Detective Lindsay was drowning in her own grief over losing friend Nadia to a serial killer. It was her boss and foster father Voight who pulled her out of that hole. Now if Voight has any hope of keeping his freedom, let alone his job, Lindsay will have to do everything she can to pull her mentor out of his grief. Though Lindsay tried to talk Voight out of revenge, she ultimately failed. As a result in Season 4 Voight will be even less inclined to follow the rules than he usually is. Helping someone who doesn’t want to be helped is extremely difficult, and this time Lindsay, and all of the Intelligence Unit, could go down with him.

Season 4 of Chicago P.D. returns September 21 on NBC.
