SDCC 2016: An Interview with Rick & Morty’s Chris Parnell

This year Rick & Morty really had a large presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. The breakout mature cartoon on Adult Swim seemed to be a large part of the show this year being included in Adult Swim’s outdoor attraction “Adult Swim on the Green” as well as including Rick & Morty giveaway merchandise from their booth on the convention floor. The entire cast and crew of Rick & Morty were present at Comic-Con and TVOvermind had the chance to speak with them.

Here we spoke with talented voice actor, Chris Parnell, about what it’s like to work on Rick & Morty compared to the other programs he’s involved with as well as how he brings diversity to each character. One of the most interesting parts of the conversation with Parnell comes when he discusses how important the writing is to animated shows and can essentially make or break whether or not something is funny or creative.

Rick & Morty has no official season three return date yet, but creator Dan Harmon has hinted that fans could see the show return before the end of 2016. The show has had an extremely strong first two seasons and from all of the information collected at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 it seems that things are only going to continue escalating as we go on.
