The 100 fans still reeling from Lexa’s death will finally see how Clarke is dealing with this major loss in Thursday’s episode of the CW series. In the all-new hour, titled “Stealing Fire,” Titus continues to hold Clarke and Murphy prisoner in Polis as the Grounders prepare to choose a new commander who will succeed Lexa.
In the sneak peek video below, The 100 executive producer and showrunner Jason Rothenberg goes into more detail about how exactly a new commander is chosen and how “the flame,” the A.I. that was taken out of the back of Lexa’s head at the end of “Thirteen,” plays a role in that. Plus, we see a little bit of hope from Clarke that she may be able to connect with the woman she loved again.
“Is she really in there?” Clark asks Titus, wondering if Lexa truly is are a part of the A.I.
“Of course she is,” he tells her.
Since all of the commanders of the past are apparently still in “the flame,” is there a chance that we could see Lexa again in some form later this season? Perhaps we will; I truly have no idea. But this week’s episode, with its focus on Polis, should give us a better idea of exactly what “the flame” is and how it works, giving us a clearer picture of what we can expect from The 100 (and the new commander) during the back half of this season.
The 100 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on The CW. Check out the sneak peek video for “Stealing Fire” below:
