After a short holiday hiatus, Duck Dynasty is back with a vengeance this week. This episode focused largely on Willie’s new restaurant and an outhouse race. And boy was it funny!
This week on Duck Dynasty, Willie has opened a new restaurant. So Willie is distracted trying to create his signature sandwich, the “Boss Hog”, while Jase announced that Willie’s Duck Diner has sponsored the rest of the guys in an outhouse race. Yes, you read that right. An outhouse race. It’s like derby cars, but it’s outhouses with wheels.
I certainly haven’t laughed this hard at an episode of Duck Dynasty in quite some time. Anytime outhouses are involved, you’re guaranteed to make me laugh, and this episode certainly didn’t disappoint. Jase was really on his witticism game, and Si, riding in an outhouse with a camera helmet on his head? Perfection. The Turnip Greens (the great rolling outhouse) was looking like a clear favorite, until Robertson family arch nemesis Phil McMillan shows up with his own rolling outhouse. While not the master of insults, he posed a serious threat. Unfortunately, the Robertsons valiant effort was not enough to pull out a victory against their arch rival, McMillan. But it was still really fun to watch!
Willie, meanwhile, gets the girls together to taste test his perfect creation, the gourmet bologna sandwich, “The Boss Hog”. The ladies were hesitant to try a bologna sandwich, but they were all sold by the end that the “Boss Hog” would be a hit. And that’s all I have to say about that, except that I really want to try one!
This episode was just as fun as any Duck Dynasty episode ever was. It had good quotes, good funny moments, and two stories that were fun to follow. It incorporated the best rednecks in the best ways, and overall was a really well-produced episode. Duck Dynasty has really put forth a strong effort so far in its seventh season, and I’m excited to see it continue.
Here are some of my favorite quotes from the episode:
“I’d like a flatbread.” “Of course you would”- Jep and Godwin
“Outhouse racing is getting to be a pretty big deal around these parts”- Jase
Korie: “Why is it called Turnip Greens?”
Jase: “Because it produces the greatest bowel movement”
“Pipe down Wes Mantooth”- Jep, to their arch rival
“This is the ultimate Game of Thrones“- Jase (see what he did there?)
Toilet references, Anchorman references and bologna sandwiches. What’s not to love? I certainly loved this episode.
What did you guys think? Did you enjoy this episode as much as I did? Or was this a miss for you? Let us know!
