Love and relationships are all perfect as long as both partners respect and care for one another, but unfortunately that isn’t always the case, and sometimes infidelity can be the biggest pain point between them. Even if an affair happens, folks can work through it if they actually accept responsibility for what they did.
The problem is that some cheaters just don’t care about the pain they’ve caused and instead try to justify their actions. Some of these excuses just don’t make sense, and we’ve compiled a list of the craziest ones ever heard. Read on to check out these stories, but be warned that you might be baffled at the end.

Nobody wants to find out that their partner is cheating on them, but unfortunately a lot of folks engage in infidelity and keep it a sly secret. News reports mention that a lot of folks who have affairs often use the same kind of excuses when explaining their whereabouts, and they think they won’t be caught.
They also don’t change their stories because they don’t want their loved one to ask more questions, which is why most cheaters keep their excuses simple. A lot of the alibis involve friends or the gym, which can be scary if a partner keeps repeating them.

Most of the justifications on this list are pretty dumb, and we can all agree on that, but cheaters have come up with even more shocking stories to hide their actions. Research has found that 34% of people say that they were playing golf with their friends when they were actually engaging in infidelity.
Almost 27% say that work was taking up their time, 13% lie about being out with friends, and 5% use the gym or grocery shopping as an excuse. Since all of these are very commonplace actions, it can be hard to figure out what’s true and what’s fabricated.

With all the crazy stories cheaters come up with, it’s no wonder their justifications when they are caught are equally weird. According to private investigators, some folks who have had a lot of affairs try to excuse their behavior by telling their partner that ‘Humans aren’t meant to be monogamous.’
Others act like they only strayed from the marriage or relationship because they wanted more intimacy that their partner probably couldn’t provide. This puts the blame on the other individual, and another excuse about being seduced further makes it seem like the affair partner was the real culprit in all of this.

Cheating doesn’t solve any issues of intimacy or truly make people better; that’s why it doesn’t make sense why some folks use it as a form of revenge. When both partners are toxic, and one has already had an affair or strayed, the other individual might act out by doing the same thing to them, but in the end both people feel bad and suffer.
Unfortunately for a lot of folks who get cheated on, their loved one might make it all out to be their fault by saying they didn’t receive enough love and attention. This can be painful to hear and also make the victim doubt themselves.

Folks who have affairs don’t want to get caught and painted as the bad guy, which is why they might spin a tall tale and make it seem like their loved one is being too doubtful and not trusting them enough.
According to research, 74% of women who are survivors of controlling relationships have experienced gaslighting. Therefore, it’s very important for anyone who suspects their partner of cheating to speak to a professional about their fears, and to also seek support from friends and family.

When someone gets cheated on, it immediately shatters their trust in their loved ones because of the betrayal they’ve faced. That’s why folks need to spend time understanding their feelings after being cheated on, and to get support as soon as possible.
Talking about the issue and the emotions that come with it can help release stress and reduce anger and resentment. It can also slowly put them on the path to self-care, which can make them feel happier, lighter, and more joyful.

Cheating is the worst thing to do to a loved one, which is why all of these silly excuses fall flat and seem so meaningless.
