Out of all of the reviews I have done for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, this has to be the easiest one I’ve ever cranked out. Why? Kyle Richards was in the wrong. Period.
Now, I’m in no way, shape, or form about to sit here and try to justify any of Kim Richards erratic behavior with her increasingly eerie boyfriend Ken so far. I’m not even going to say Kim was justifiable on her tardiness, which disrespected the group as a whole by interrupting plans for the getaway. But despite all of Kim’s zany antics during these last two episodes, Kyle (and even Mauricio) should have waited to call Kim out on her crap instead of making it the main course during both of Mauricio’s birthday dinners.
I seriously thought the whole point of going to Hawaii in the first place was to leave the drama of L.A./Beverly Hills behind. I mean, Russell and Taylor were purposely left at home to stew in their own issues, so the weekend should have went without a hitch. But no. Kyle and Mauricio had to publicly scold Kim for her tardiness over Mauricio’s birthday dinner, releasing a can of tension that tainted the rest of the trip. At this rate, the gang should have called both Taylor and Russell after all to come serve their drama as desert, because that seems to be what the group demanded as their entertainment.
If I were Mauricio, Kim’s tardiness would have been the last thing on my mind (or even at all) during my birthday weekend. In Lanai, Hawaii, of all places. So when he decided to continuously bring up Kim being late instead of just taking her answer for crap it was to be dealt with (if need be) later, my mouth hit the floor. I’m still trying to make sense of the confrontation. The only thing it did was help Kyle’s case against Ken, who she really can’t stand for a reason I’m still trying to grasp. Has she heard some less than savory things about him and knows he’s up to no good? If so, collect the evidence needed for the claim, show it to Kim, and move on. Otherwise? Drop the animosity. It’s not working in your, or Kim’s, favor at this point, Kyle.
Bottom line, the confrontation should have waited until they got home. Or better yet, Kyle and Kim should have had it out on their joint balcony, without the other guests in attendance. It was just simply the wrong place for that argument/confrontation to have taken place and both parties are own an even 50-50 split on the wrongdoings at hand. Period.
Other than that, the episode was pretty much light fare, which was what made it bearable to watch. I was surprised to see Lisa compliment Brandi so much in this episode, but I know it has to be short-lived and the compliments will turn to barbs in no time. It wouldn’t surprise me if Lisa was luring Brandi into her fold, only to eat her alive when the chance presents itself. I love Lisa VanderPump as much as the next person, but she does have a mean girl streak… which is why we love her.
While Kyle, Mauricio, and Co. were conjuring up drama in Hawaii, Taylor dealt with her own issues during a heart to heart with a severely plain-faced Dana. I seriously had to do a double take to make sure the woman was actually Dana, who looks drastically different without makeup. Other than my initial shock of Dana’s appearance, I was trying to figure out why Taylor was upset that the rest of the women weren’t there to support her. Also, was Dana slick trying to throw shade at the other women by insisting thy should have been there for Taylor instead of basking in the sun? Is somebody a little miffed they didn’t get an invite? I’m just saying…
And that, my friends, was pretty much the entire episode of last night’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Kim bashing with a dash of Taylor drama thrown in. Next week looks crazy as hell, especially since Cedric’s lying, fame-thirsty ass is back to wreck shop on Lisa’s nerves. Plus, were we supposed to be looking at on Taylor’s face toward the end of the promos? What do you guys think will go down next week?

Hey Mark! I think we were supposed to be seeing a bruise under Taylor's eye during that promo clip. I think it was Adrienne that said "was that what finally made you leave?" and Taylor nodding yes, or something to that effect. I could see a little discoloration. The strange thing is, if *that* was what made her finally leave, why was it (the bruise) not there in tonight's episode when she told Dana it was over? Are they editing things out of sequence (a common practice on reality shows)? Personally, I believe Taylor was abused, but the sequence of events they are showing seems odd.
THANK YOU! That was why I asked if that was supposed to have beena black eye, because it clearly wasn't there in the episode last night. Everything about this season has been a little odd, but I can't wait to see how they explain that.
I am not sure why Kyle is so intent on humilating her sister on camera. It's not like Kim didn't confess she didn't have her drivers license and lied about taking care of it on speaker phone and on camera at the very beginning. It seems Kyle is only happy when Kim is breaking down in tears the way she did when she confessed she wanted someone to love her. To me Kyle wants to constantly highlight herself as the together sister with the great husband and it's like ok already. Kim has some serious substance abuse issues which anyone can see but what is Kyle's story?
Cat, it bothered me too that Kyle was hellbent on finding out exacty why Kim was late. It was like she was the mother and Kim was the wayward kid and it wasn't cool at all. Again, Kim has been all types of crazy this year, but I don't think it warranted that big confrontation last night.
