Facing the Spotlight: Josh Peck Reveals Cosmetic Surgery Journey

Josh Peck recently revealed that he succumbed to the pressures of being in the spotlight, deciding to undergo plastic surgery to correct his undereye area. On his Good Guys podcast, he shared details about his “lower-eyelid blepharoplasty,” commonly known as an eye-lift. “It’s the best,” Josh said. He further said:

“It’s really easy. They go all inside your eye. No scar, little lift, little tuck.”

Known for his role in the Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh, Josh considered getting the surgery in 2020 but only went through with it in 2023. “I put it off for three years,” he explained, describing the moment he began considering the procedure. “I was shooting a show in 2020 called Turner and Hooch on Disney+. You haven’t seen it, and that’s your loss,” he joked.

The Trigger Behind the Surgery

Josh recounted an incident where the director of photography on Turner and Hooch made a subtle comment about his appearance. “At one point, the director of photography came up to me and nicely mentioned, ‘You know, you’re getting a little tough to light,'” Josh shared. “He didn’t say it quite like that; he said it much more lovely and Canadian.”

This wasn’t the first time someone had commented on his undereye appearance. Josh noted that the producers and crew knew he didn’t drink, had a kid, and didn’t lead a hard-partying lifestyle. He said:

“The bags under my eyes are from nothing other than some crappy genetics. It’s all from my dad’s side. So thanks for nothing, Dad! Couldn’t hang around, but left me your baggage, I see.”

Josh also revealed that a “great actor” friend encouraged him to proceed with the surgery. “Shout-out a good friend of mine, who’s a great actor, whose name I won’t say because I don’t know if he publicly wants to be known as someone who got the surgery,” he shared. “He’s not as brave as me.”

He credited other big names, including John Stamos, for giving him the final push. Josh added:

“Shout-out someone who loves their name [being] said, John Stamos, my other friend, who was like, ‘George Clooney did it, Josh. Just f**king do it,’ he was like, ‘You should’ve done it yesterday. What are you, nuts?'”

His co-host reassured him, saying, “And you look amazing,” offering some much-needed support and validation, helping him feel better about his decision.

Josh has been sober since 2008 after struggling with drug and alcohol addiction in his late teens and early 20s. This major personal achievement highlights his resilience and determination to overcome his past demons, showing his strength.
