No matter how hyped Alien: Covenant is, I’m still very skeptical that it’s going to be a “return to form” of the original Alien. Don’t get me wrong. The trailers looks great. Every single video and poster we’ve seen thus far has been awesome. And now that you can have a VR experience of what it’s like to be a neomorph I think that nearly every single base for hyping the new film has been covered.
But in all honesty I just think it’s going to be extremely hard to replicate how cool and novel a movie Alien was. Maybe I’ll stop putting too much pressure on Covenant but these guys are making their own bed and better be lying in it if it doesn’t meet expectations.
