Following the recent death of Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, wife of Prince William and Mother to three beautiful children, was dubbed the new Princess of Wales. Since she became one of the most photographed faces in the world, Kate has shown admirable humility and grace, and with her new role, more eyes will be looking at her. 1. Kate’s love for photography

Over the years, we have seen Kate showcase several talents, one of which is photography. Inspired by her grandfather Peter Middleton, her love for it grew from when she was a little girl. Kate has taken several photographs of her three children that capture some of their unique moments, displaying her deep affection for them. Through Hold Still, the Princess used photography to capture stories during the pandemic and is an honorary member of the Royal Photographic Society.

2. She is a great lover of red wine

We all have our favorite go-to drink when all you want to do is relax and let your hair down; Kate is no exception. Red wine seemed to be the Princesses’ favorite when she reportedly admitted so in 2016 during her tour of Canada. The royal couple has visited Mission Hill Winery, where according to Graham Nordin, the wine director, they enjoyed the Oculus. Aside from this preference, Kate lives a healthy life and enjoys cooking meals for her family.

3. The Princess has both Beauty and Brains

Kate is the epitome of grace and beauty and is also brilliant. She studied maths, art, and English in her A levels, achieving an AAB. The Princess then went to Russel Group University St Andrews to study History of Art, where she graduated in 2005 with an impressive 2:1 honors. During her time in the institution was when she met Prince William.

4. She enjoys outdoor activities

Kate is a great lover of sports and nature, contributing to her competitive streak in various sports, such as tennis, hockey, and even sailing. In 2007, she trained with the all-female dragon-boat crew to race across the English Channel.

5. Kate was William’s roommate before marriage

Kate and William supposedly met before 2001 but officially became friends when she joined St Andrews. To add to the fact that these two were destined to be together, they became roommates! The prince and Princess moved in together with a couple of friends. He revealed in an interview that this was where their love for each other grew.

6. As a teen, Kate had a photo of Levi’s model on her wall

Kate today is well known for her refinement and elegance but guess what? She was once a boy-crazed teenager like the rest of us. During her engagement interview in 2010, the Princess said she once stuck a photo of Levi’s model on her wall. However, despite Kate’s massive crush on William before they started dating, she never had a picture of him on her wall, contrary to what Jessica Hay told the Mail on Sunday.

7. Kate Middleton Broke up with Will in 2007

According to the People, Kate and William’s road to marriage was not bump-free. The royal couple split up briefly in 2007 because the two were on different chapters in life. After inviting them to a party, Sam Waley-Cohen supposedly played cupid in their love story.

8. Kate has never been seen riding a horse

The royal family has been known to have a history with horses, for example, polo, hunting, and even equestrian Olympics. It was, therefore, a shock to learn from Town & Country that Kate has never been seen on horseback. Marcia Moody, however, cleared up the rumor that the Princess was allergic to horses saying, “Kate doesn’t ride, purely because she didn’t do it growing up.”

9. She had quite some exciting nicknames

Today, we fondly know Kate Middleton as Kate or officially as Catherine, but before she became royalty, the Princess had a few nicknames you wouldn’t believe. The Mirror revealed that while talking to a group of students, she said that she was once nicknamed “Squeak” after their adorable school guinea pig.
