Priyanka Chopra has been active longer than you might think but the fact that she’s been a big star in Bollywood is probably why a lot of people in the US might not have known about her until she really started making an impact on American TV and in movies. If you’ll recall she was in the Baywatch movie starring Dwayne Johnson and she got to play the part of the main antagonist that was peddling drugs along the coastline. But since and even before then her career has been trending upward as she’s been taking on one role after another in order to build her reputation in the states and increase it within Bollywood. You could say that she’s been working around the clock on a constant basis since she’s been doing her absolute best to make certain that she’s capable of running with the most elite and standing her ground. So far it seems that she’s done quite well.
Here are a few things you might not have known about Priyanka.
10. In 2000 she won both the Miss India and Miss World beauty pageants.
Taking a good look at her the beauty of this woman is something to write home about as the saying goes, but she also seems to have sense of poise and purpose to her that might seem cocky to some folks but is also very controlled and commands a kind of respect when she walks into a room.
9. Both of her parents were military doctors.
One might think that this could have influenced her a great deal when it came to serving in the military but instead it seems to have simply given her a sense of purpose to go out and do what she wanted to do without exception. Since she obviously doesn’t come from an acting background it’s kind of impressive that she’s done as well as she has.
8. While singing in a movie she stepped on a live wire and was hospitalized for a day.
Accidents do happen on set and this one seems like it could have been a lot worse since there’s a difference between a little jolt that can put you down for a day and a very serious shock that can put you out.
7. There was a doll made in image.
This seems like one of the most flattering things that could ever happen to any actor since it immortalizes them in a way so long as the doll is cared for and kept in one piece. But it’s also very telling since it would mean that someone felt that she was the perfect archetype for that doll.
6. In 2015 she was the first Bollywood actor to get a role on prime-time TV in America.
This was history in the making when she came to the show Quantico and since then she’s been doing everything she can to make sure it’s not just a one-off kind of thing. Priyanka is perhaps one of the hardest workers in show business at the moment, as it’s been said.
5. She’s a fan of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series.
She’s also a huge fan of Sarah Michelle Gellar’s, the second Buffy in the franchise but definitely one of the all-time favorites of so many fans that have immortalized this show. In fact if you ask you might find that nine out of ten people still remember it.
4. Priyanka likes to do her own stunts when it’s possible.
A lot of sets won’t allow this since they don’t want to risk the health of the stars considering that some of the stunts are quite dangerous and are therefore only taken on by those that are trained and know how to do them. But Priyanka seems to be the type to want to do her own thing when it’s allowable at least. You can’t fault her for wanting to show what she can do after all.
3. She and Nick Jonas were engaged in August of 2018.
It would seem that they’re still together and he did go along with having the wedding orchestrated according to her culture which was quite nice and in many ways says a lot about his character and what he’s willing to do for her.
2. Priyanka is pretty candid about how much time filming takes.
She doesn’t pull any punches when she talks about how she works just about all day when she’s on set and there aren’t a whole lot of moments for free time while on a project. Life in show business might seem glamorous but it can still be a lot of work.
