If you have ever watched any of the American Horror Story seasons, you know who Evan Peters is. He and Sarah Paulson are the only two characters to appear in every single season. Not only is he doing television, he will also be playing Quicksilver in X-Men; Apocalypse. If you are a big fan of Evan’s, there are a few things that you may not know about him that you should know.
Early Life
Evan was born in St. Louis, Missouri. His father was the vice president of administration at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. His mother was a stay at home mom. He has a brother named Andrew and a sister named Michelle. All three kids attended a Roman Catholic grade school. In 2001, the family moved to Michigan, and he took acting classes and pursued modeling. When he was 15 years old, the family moved to Los Angeles, where he attended Burbank High School. Eventually, he started homeschooling.
He Took Up Knitting
Just a few years ago, Even took up knitting. He thought that it would be a useful way to pass the time. It didn’t take him long to realize that it wasn’t for him. Not only was it too complicated for him, he couldn’t have a conversation while he was trying to knit because he was trying to concentrate too hard. Eventually, he put down his knitting needles and went back to a pastime that he really does like. Watching the Walking Dead. He admits that he doesn’t binge watch it like most of us do, however, he does catch up whenever he has a chance.
He Auditioned For a Part in The Hunger Games
Evan auditioned for the role of Peeta in The Hunger Games. He stated that he was doing a scene with Jennifer Lawrence and he was beyond nervous because she is a great actress. Unfortunately, Evan didn’t get the part, it went to Josh Hutcherson. Evan wasn’t down for long, though, he was cast in a recurring role on American Horror Story in 2011 and he has appeared in every season since.
Wearing a Rubber Suit on AHS: Murder House
During the first season of American Horror Story, Evan had to wear a rubber suit that covered his entire body, his head and all. Unfortunately for Evan, getting the suit on proved to be extremely difficult In order to get the suit on, he had to cover his entire naked body with lube so that she could squeeze into it and then get if off after. Most people would find talking about that to be embarrassing, but Evan knows how to laugh at himself.
The rubber suit wasn’t the only embarrassing moment that Evan had on the set. When he was filming season two of American Horror Story, his manhood accidentally slipped right in front of Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange. He said that it is a moment that he will never forget, but he wishes that he could.
His Early Acting Days
Evan had a recurring role playing Seth Wosmer on Disney Channel’s Phil of the Future from 2004 through 2005. He had a recurring role in the television show, Invasion, and he played a runaway teen with a psychotic older brother and a huge heart on One Tree Hill. He hasn’t only done television, he has also appeared in several feature length films including Kick Ass, Safelight, and Adult World. In 2011, he found a home at American Horror Story where is has really been able to show us what he is made of. He plays a different, darker, crazier character on every season. He also starred in plenty of commercials.
He Has Two Tattoos
Evan has two tattoos. You wouldn’t know this because they are always covered up when he is shooting. His first tattoo is the word “Mom” on his left arm. His mother told him that the only way that she would approve of a tattoo is if he got one with the word “Mom”. Wanting to please his mom, that is what he did. His second tattoo, the one that he regrets is a thumbs up sign on the back of his right palm. He doesn’t regret the tattoo because of what it is, he says that it is a hassle trying to keep it covered up while he is shooting.
Evan’s Girlfriend
In 2012, Evan began dating actress Emma Roberts. The two met when they were working together on the movie, Adult World. They got engaged in March 2013 and in May 2016, sadly, they announced that they had ended their relationship.
The Fight In Canada
The couple was staying in a hotel in Montreal, Canada in July of 2013 when a huge fight broke out. While the argument began getting heated, they started hitting one another. Because of the noise, someone called the police. When they arrived, they arrested Emma because Evan had visible injuries. Evan, however, was not arrested since there not any visible injuries on her. Even refused to press charges and Emma was released from jail a short time later.
The couple issued a joint statement saying that the whole incident was a misunderstanding and they were moving past it together. The story was a major story and it covered by every tabloid magazine and was featured on every gossip show and website.
His Awards
Evan was nominated for awards for his roles in AHS, Sleepover, and he won an award for her performance in Clipping Adam. It’s no wonder Evan has earned recognition for his work. Just look at his roles on AHS. He has played a teenage boy/ghost, a mental patient, a boy with lobster hands, the ghost of a psycho, the ghost of an old man, and the man who played the ghost of an old man. This is a man who can thrive in any role that is thrown at him.
