You Know that MyPillow Guy on TV? He was a Severe Crack Addict

Admittedly it might be kind of a surprise to realize that the MyPillow guy on TV, Mike Lindell, was a severe crack addict at one time. The guy looks like he’s doing great now and he attributes this to divine intervention and to the spirit that he put into his business that wouldn’t allow him to quit. It wasn’t all smooth sailing since when he was still a young man he had an attitude that tended to get him into trouble and even got him tossed out of a casino one night. But barring that he claims that MyPillow came to him in a dream one night. From that point on he worked to create what he and some people would describe as the perfect pillow that always keeps its shape.

The pillow wasn’t an initial success since Mike was plagued by everything from lack of interest to the involvement of the Better Business Bureau and competitors that tried to make him quit. But throughout it all Mike kept on moving forward, eventually becoming a success at one point as his pillow began to gain some notice. However he did reach a low point when he became a crack addict and lost his wife, his home, and his family almost. There was one two-week period during which his dealer wouldn’t even sell to him since he’d been up for about two weeks straight. You might be thinking that this isn’t possible and technically it’s not since it would have serious drawbacks on a person’s health, but there have been stranger stories when talking about crack addicts. How he kicked it though is something that people can debate about as much as they want, as he asked God to grant him the strength to not go back to the life at one point.

He prayed to no longer have the desire for crack and apparently that prayer was heard since he never went back to it. From that point on his pillow business began to thrive once more, and he started to hire on more and more employees until his business became what it is now. He has over a thousand employees and is making millions on his pillows thanks to his ability to push forward and, according to him, the grace of God. He can thank whoever he wants but the truth is that he had a long way to go before he found his niche and before he found anyone willing to pay attention to his product. That’s the biggest step when it comes to business really is getting someone to pay attention. People will follow ideas and other people if they decide to make a move towards something or somebody, but by and large people will stand around with their hands in their pockets unless there’s someone or something worth following.

Lindell had to go through a lot of trials to get where he wanted to be, but he found the way to get to people and make them pay attention.
