Young and the Restless fans are sad for Cane, but there’s nothing anyone can do for him. We predicted months ago when he first realized he spent the night with Juliet despite having no memory of the situation that he needed to tell Lilly. We said that he was making a huge mistake keeping this from her, and he should have come clean. When he didn’t, he had to lie time and time again to make things look good for himself. Now he’s been caught, and it’s not going well at all. There’s just nothing they can do about it but stand around and watch as the mess unfolds.
We know that there is nothing they can do about it, but we also know that he’s lost it all. His reputation, his wife, his job, his family; he’s done. He’s not even under the impression they can fix their own issues. He’s speaking to Jill at the moment, and when she tells him she’s not sure how he will ever overcome all this, he tells her even he’s not sure he can overcome it.
With that kind of mindset, we have to admit his future is looking pretty bleak. There’s nothing anyone can do about it, and he’s got to find a way to move on. The problem is we don’t think he can move on, and we think he’s going to continue to fight for his life. Does he have any chance of getting any of it back on track? We don’t think so.
