Rollercoaster rides that are based on superhero characters are nothing new. We’ve seen rides based on the web-slinging movements of Spiderman and the mighty strength of the Hulk. This 2018, Six Flags parks throughout the US and Mexico will be unveiling two new rides based on two of the coolest characters in DC comic history: Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn.
In San Antonio, Texas’ Six Flags Fiesta, Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth will be turned into a gut-twisting ride. Wonder Woman’s Golden Lasso, as it will be called, is going to be the world’s first publicly rideable roller coaster made with only a single rail. Moving at 50 miles per hour, this roller coaster is going to feature some thrills that are guaranteed to make your stomach rise to your chest. Eight passenger trains will carry a set of passengers up a total of 113 feet and down 100 feet through a vertical drop.
The 90-degree drop is the kind of drop that only the bravest can endure. You’ll literally see the ground you’re dropping to vertically. As if that isn’t dangerous enough, you’ll also experience a zero-g roll and a 180-degree stall. Because of the single rail, this ride is expected to be a lot smoother than regular roller coasters. The Six Flags in Mexico will be called the Wonder Woman Coaster. It’ll also feature the 90-degree drop with an addition of a 12-hill.

As far as our favorite villainess is concerned, we’ll be getting rides that will probably feel just a bit wackier than others much like Harley Quinn’s character is. The Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, North California will be featuring a ride called Harley Quinn Crazy Coaster. This roller coaster will include inverted loops on which you’ll be zooming through at 70 miles per hour. The best part about this ride, though, is that it’s not only going to have one train. This crazy coaster will have a set of two trains that will be racing each forwards and then backwards before charging it head on for a completely different riding experience reminiscent of a real race. Passengers will be seated face-to-face and will ride on a figure eight track.
Two other roller coasters, one in Six Flags New England and the other in Six Flags Over Texas, will be featuring Harley Quinn Spinsanity. This ride will take on a different kind of thrill, being more of a pendulum-style. It’ll reach heights of up to 147 feet while going at it with speeds of up to 70 miles per hour.
2018 is already proving to be an exciting year. Six Flags is definitely stepping up their roller coaster game by featuring rides from two of our favorite female comic characters. We’re not only looking forward to getting a thrill like no other, but we’re also looking forward to doing it over and over again until we literally fall over from sickness. Wonder Woman’s lasso better put us in our place; otherwise we’ll be off to the races with Harley Quinn.
