I’ve got to say that I’ve never played the game The Witcher but the music in this video is simply awesome. As a main theme it’s something powerful enough to draw people in on the sound alone and work your nerves just enough to force the adrenaline upwards and into your system so that you can really get into the game. It seems to call to a very primal, basic need within the body and mind that understands the important the power of such music upon the senses.
It is powerful, it is strong, and it is dynamic in a way that many would agree is able to move a person in such a way that simply calls for action. For a video game it is becoming the norm to deliver something that has this kind of punch to get players into purchasing and enjoying the game enough to become completely invested in it. Good music is the kind of balm that many people enjoy when it comes to truly getting into anything, as the lack of sound or music is typically an antithesis to a pleasing experience. People want to be moved, they want to feel, and they want to experience the kind of passion that is necessary to really invest themselves in anything.
The absence of music is, for some, a much more preferred method by which they are allowed to focus and calm their nerves. In truth though the right music can push you to new limits that you wouldn’t otherwise realize existed and invest yourself in something beyond your own experience so that you might fully experience something other than what you know. Good music can pump you up in a way that just playing a game cannot.
Have you ever attempted anything without some type of music being played in the background? It’s entirely possible, but it becomes more work than you imagined and is far harder than anything should be. The act of doing anything without some type of tune to accompany it, even if the tune is just something that plays in your head, is a lot more difficult than if the right tune is playing alongside you as you perform one action or another.
It’s been seen in many cases that music tends to make life easier simply because people will begin to move to the music no matter if they know they’re doing it or not. The listener will begin to move to the rhythm more often than not simply because the music in some way moves them and allows them to ease into what they’re doing rather than think about the fact that it’s actually work. Music can make a day slip by without noticing it, or even make an activity more enjoyable all because you feel the movements of your body rather than actively think about them. Music is the kind of buffer that many people need in order to really enjoy their day or their life.
And if it’s as hauntingly addictive as this tune it can convey a brief feeling of power as well, almost like an injection of adrenaline that might be needed at the moment.
