5 Reasons We Miss Kim Matula as Hope on The Bold and the Beautiful

She was Hope for six years, and then she left to pursue other things. You can see Kim Matula playing a confused about her love life yet hilarious flight attendant on the hit show “LA to Vegas” this year, and she’s rocking the role. She has a serious ability to do anything she puts her mind to, and she’s been just as good in primetime as she was in the daytime. She’s the kind of actress who is still young enough to do anything she wants, but she’s also the kind of actress we miss seeing regularly now that her character is back.

She’s Hope

We know that daytime roles are given away to other actors and actresses all the time, but we really miss her. The new Hope is good, but she’s not Kim Matula. Perhaps as she plays the role for a lot longer, she’ll become the Hope we all know and love. But for now, she’s not someone we are accustomed to seeing in this role. Kim Matula is Hope, and that’s why we love her in this role so much.

She’s An Emmy Nominated Actress

When she was just four years into her role as Hope Logan, she was given a totally amazing experience. She was nominated as an Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series. This is a big deal to anyone who knows anything about this kind of work, even though she did not win. She was one of very few young women given this opportunity, and that’s been nice for her. She’s got a lot on her plate, and she’s been able to use that to further her career and take some strides in the next direction.

She’s Been Through it All

Hope Logan went through everything. She was married, divorced, and she was the first adult actress to play the role. Hope was a child until she was rapidly aged at the end of 2009, and she was portrayed by Logan first and foremost. This means she’s ben the most recognizable and most original Hope on television. She’s not someone you can really compare to anyone else, either. Her character was almost raped, she’s been tortured by Steffy since high school, and her mother slept with her first boyfriend. She was also conceived when her mother had an affair with her own sister’s husband, and Hope’s not been very lucky to have a lot of drama in her life in the past.
But Matula played that role like it was her job — well, it was her job, but you know what we mean. She transitioned well from a young woman to a grown woman on the show, and we miss her.

She’s Young

She’s not even 30 yet, which means she’s still young enough to take the character of Hope so far. She won’t, of course, because she’s not playing the role anymore. However, she had the chance to take this role so far into her career, but we also think that she would have made a great comeback if she did make a comeback. It would be almost satisfying to watch her take Liam from Steffy after all that Steffy did to her growing up when they were in high school, but it’s not as satisfying watching Hope take him from her now that it’s a new face playing Hope.

She’s Funny and Serious

Kim Matula has a look that allows us to see her in any way. While we think the new Hope is beautiful, she has mastered the art of looking deceptive, which just isn’t how we see Hope. She’s not someone who comes across as a person like that given the fact that she’s been an honest, innocent woman with very different life views than her mother. The fact that the new Hope is taking her mother’s advice to just steal the man she loves despite the fact that he had a wife and a baby on the way doesn’t seem like something Kim Matula would have done. At the end of the day, however, we have to grow accustomed to seeing a new face play Hope. And we’ll get used to it.
