The 2016 election brought about potentially the largest shift in the dissemination of news that we’ve ever seen in our Nation’s history. Did the term “fake news” even exist prior to Trump running for President? If it did I certainly don’t recall it nor do I think many people would. It’s unprecedented that “legit” news outlets don’t even report real news anymore. There are many outlets that drum of fake stories that the public believes and unfortunately this he become a norm in our society.
In fact there are now huge efforts to identify which news sources are real and which are not. Facebook has taken measures to weed out all the liars and there are thousands working around the clock to put any fake news stories to rest. In fact it’s gotten to the level where we now have to be educated on how to figure out if a story is “news” or “fake news.” In light of all of this late night host Jimmy Kimmel wanted to offer his perspective on the whole thing.
