One thing that’s admirable about some people when it comes to talking about Donald Trump is that that they really don’t pull any punches, especially when it comes to health care. Jimmy Kimmel certainly isn’t interested in stroking Trump’s ego when it comes to such a subject, and his reasoning behind it is pretty sound. After all how many times in the same five minutes do we need to hear from Trump that he has the votes to overcome Obamacare and the reason they haven’t voted yet is that there’s a senator in the hospital and three other Republicans have voted to overthrow it?
If that sentence made no sense to you don’t worry, it made no sense listening to it either. Trump almost sounds like he has a low-grade form of onset dementia at times when he speaks to the press, as though he can repeat what he just said over and over but can’t form a single thought after that. Unless of course it’s to berate the NFL and it’s owners about how disrespectful it is to kneel before a game when the national anthem is playing.
For such a highly educated man Trump seems to put his foot in his mouth quite often and doesn’t bother to admit that he could possibly be wrong. His stance on healthcare is such that he seems to think that the votes he needs materialize whenever he thinks they will and his word on whether or not people will boycott the NFL will be absolute law. This is a dangerous individual that lives in a fantasy land where he and his followers, ahem, excuse me, supporters, are the only ones making sense in a senseless world.
Despite this there are still many that believe that Trump is not all there in the head. This tends to happen when you believe that just by speaking the words you want to hear that things will happen. Thus far in his first nine months he’s angered more people worldwide than any standing president in the history of the US. Okay so that’s debatable, but it’s still important to note that there are more issues with nuclear weapons at this point than there has been in quite some time.
Coincidence?
Also, if you do some fact checking, the votes needed to repeal Obamacare are NOT there.
The NFL is NOT handing down suspensions or fines for those teams that did not take part in the anthem.
Trump can rant and rave all he want, and he will, but he does not control the NFL. What they are doing is highly questionable and in some people’s opinions deplorable, but it is still their right as Americans. If we abolish one set of rights for a certain amount of people then we must abolish those same rights for everyone. It is not always a pretty sight when everyone has the same rights, but it is one of the founding ideals that this country was built upon.
We don’t have to agree with one another, but we do have to live with each other.
