Walking Dead Cast Thanks Their Fans with This Promo Video

Not a lot of shows nowadays will actually stop and take the time to say the words “thank you” to their fans. Why is this so important though? Well there are a lot of reasons actually, and a lot of them have to do with the fans and their dedication to the show and what it means to millions of people when a single character gets killed off. Millions of voices and sets of eyes are watching The Walking Dead now and have been since its inception into the AMC schedule. Not all of them have ever read the comic book, but some have converted and gone ahead to see the differences between the comics and the show. Despite the naysayers that have stayed true to the comics those that watch the show have created a fan base of such proportions that simply saying the name of the show will cause a reaction no matter where you go.

Plus, besides being a kind gesture by the cast, it’s kind of interesting to find out just who has different accents and who doesn’t. But really, there are a lot of reasons why this means so much. Here’s just a few.

You tell a fan of The Walking Dead that anyone from the show will be coming to a convention and they WILL LOSE THEIR MINDS.

This is the dedication and devotion to the show, that people are so gaga crazy over it that they will take the time out of their busy schedule and scrape up whatever cash they don’t have to make certain that they are at the next convention and in line to see their favorite stars. Even if it’s a bit player from the show the truly dedicated fans will be on hand to get an autograph and perhaps a picture if they’re lucky enough.

The Walking Dead has one of the biggest fan bases in the world.

It doesn’t matter that there are those that claim the show has dropped off in recent years, the diehard fans stick with their show and will defend its honor no matter what. Really the only reason this show or any show ever continues is the support that it garners from the fans. If no one’s going to watch a show then there’s no need to waste the money to keep it going. But The Walking Dead doesn’t have that issue. If anything their fan base is continuing to grow as the action continues to heat up.

Despite being well-established before and during the show the actors are humble enough to realize that without fans they don’t have a show.

Acting can be an unforgiving job at times and rob people of the one thing they tend to value a lot, their privacy. At conventions the actors for The Walking Dead obviously don’t get a lot of personal time but they tend to realize why. If they don’t take care of their fans then the fans won’t take care of them. It’s a nonstop job to make sure their fans are satisfied, but at the end of the day the reward is that they have a following unlike any other. That alone is worth it’s weight in gold.

Such a gesture also tends to humanize the characters and remind you that despite how good or bad they are, they are just people, and they are thankful to be wanted.
