There’s been a decent amount of chatter in the past week about a Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel this week. And rightfully so. Earlier it was announced that Jude Law was chosen to play a young Dumbledore and earlier today we learned that J.K. Rowling let loose a little spoiler about the sequel on her Twitter account. Given the attention the film is getting now and will be getting as production gets started, some have taken to the internet to examine the original Harry Potter prequel film.
CinemaSins has targeted J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in their latest video, detailing “everything wrong” with the Harry Potter prequel. The YouTube channel has almost 2 billion views and is notorious for delivering cutting analyses of mainstream movies and concluding with tallies of how many “sins” those movies have racked up.
Unfortunately for Harry Potter fans, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them didn’t score too highly. But what can you expect with a film that’s trying to follow in the footsteps of one of the greatest book and movie franchises of all time? Even so, CinemaSins showed zero mercy with their review calling the movie a “cash show with 100% less Harry Potter!”
