Video Deconstructs Every “Bad Feeling” in Star Wars

Star Wars

When you come to realize just how many times “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” is uttered throughout the many different movies and shows that make up the current Star Wars universe you really have to wonder who’s operating under the influence of the Force and who’s just prone to anxiety attacks. Of course that last one would describe C-3PO to a tee since the golden droid never seems to stop complaining or worrying over anything and everything that comes along. But when you start to hear other people say it over and over it sounds insanely repetitive and it makes you think that if they keep saying it maybe it’s time to finally start thinking twice before doing certain things. Of course that’s not exactly optimal since every time they do tend to say it they’ve already done something that causes the feeling or what they’re doing is inescapable and too important to really bow out of.

But if you’ll notice one interesting thing, there’s a decent amount of spacing between this utterance which makes it seem a little more acceptable since if it was said on multiple occasions in each show and movie then it might be a trademark that would be known universally by fans and thereby something that could  be used to identify the franchise. Thankfully it’s something that seems to get said when the situation is about to get extremely dangerous or is already insanely dangerous and can’t be avoided. What’s funny is that those that have the Force saying this are likely to be those that are bound to be the most accurate in their assessment since typically the Jedi and the Sith are able to at least feel the currents of the Force as they pertain to certain events, even if they can’t always see into the future. They get a better sense of when things are about to get dangerous and when they’re in the clear more often than anyone else. Of course when you factor in guys like Han saying this then it could just be a great deal of luck that he operates with since he’s not a big follower of the Force and its many ideals.

There are a lot of people out there that can say “I’ve got a bad feeling about this” and be entirely accurate in their vague assessment for a few reasons. One would be life experience, and the other would be an innate type of intuition that is almost like an early warning system that keeps us out of trouble at times, or tries. A lot of us tend to ignore this early warning or try to ride it out and see what’s bound to come our way, but that’s how a lot of people tend to end up in trouble or in situations that are too tough to get out of and have to be dealt with. Of course following the feeling is sometimes the safe and predictable route in life since many logical, rational human beings tend to move away from danger rather than towards it. But in Star Wars if you’ll notice the moments in which people get that bad feeling they’re already firmly in danger or they’re about to be and can’t avoid it. It’s almost like the early warning system that humans have doesn’t quite apply in these movies, and when it seems to it’s still disregarded almost entirely.

When you think about Star Wars though this line isn’t really the first one you think about as lines like “Use the Force Luke” or “May the Force be with you” are more prominent. The franchise has been heavily laden with references to the Force in just about every show, movie, and book that’s come out since let’s face it, the Jedi and the Sith and the ongoing war between them has been one of the biggest drives that has attracted people left and right. But there are plenty of stories in the Star Wars universe that don’t revolve around the Force and instead take place between the non-Force sensitive beings within the galaxy. Books have been written and ideas have been floated about making Star Wars more than just about the Force and the Jedi and Sith, but to date only the books and a few other noted stories have been seen to exist. Even Rogue One had mention of the Force and Chirrut of course as a firm believer in the Force as well. If a movie ever comes out that creates a landscape where the Jedi and the Sith don’t hold sway in any way whatsoever it might seem like just another science fiction movie that people will or won’t like depending on who’s in it. You had to know it was coming, but I’ve got a bad feeling about this if it happens.
