“What happened? Why am I here right now?” are the only words you here in the teeny tiny series finale teaser from The Vampire Diaries. Elena Gilbert is back! But she seems to be a little confused. We’ve been waiting on a Nina Dobrev return to Vampire Diaries for what feels like an eternity and on March 10th she’ll finally be back as Elena. We’ve dealt with rumors, Instagram announcements, pictures of scripts, even Nina telling us why she left the show in the first place.
But it’s finally coming to an end and in the right way. Dobrev is reprising her role as Elena and fans couldn’t be happier. Now we get to see about five seconds of a teaser that better get longer once we get closer to the 10th. The series finale episode is titled “I Was Feeling Epic” and was written by the show’s original co-creators and showrunners, Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson.
“I’m thrilled to bring this show to an end the way we always intended — with Nina back to help us say goodbye,” Plec said in a statement, with Williamson adding, “I’m so excited to have Nina back to ensure our farewell episode is truly epic!”
