The Top Uses of Queen’s “We Will Rock You” in Movies

A lot of songs move you in ways that you can’t resist, but We Will Rock You seems to demand that you get up and stomp your feet, clap your hands, and just look for a reason to compete in something. It’s an adrenaline-pumping song that reaches deep inside and sets your heart to racing. You can imagine the thrill of the competition, the grueling match of wills and strength that fuels the need to compete, and to win, and thanks to this song you can imagine that you will be the one on top in the end.

We Will Rock You is one of the most awesome songs to hear in any movie, especially if it’s done right.

5. Sucker Punch

Set in a depressing kind of setting that seems fit to sap the very life from the movie, Sucker Punch thankfully cuts away to scenes of sheer imagination that defy the senses and electrify the nerves. Baby Doll and her bunch experience a thrilling set of adventures that despite not being real are enough to get the pulse pounding and the heartbeat racing as the viewer continually pulls for them to finally escape.

4. The Pacifier

Ever meet that one teacher that seems bent on being the biggest jerk in the yard? That’s when you wish you could have Navy Seal at your back to set things right. Despite the language of the clip above being different and hard to understand the point is clear that Vin Diesel is more than a match for the beleaguered gym teacher who thought he was the big man on the high school campus.

3. A Knight’s Tale

If any historians were watching this film they were likely shaking their heads and covering their eyes. Hopefully they were smiling as they did considering that this film wasn’t really meant to be a true to life rendition of the time period. It was however meant to be fun and engaging and designed to provide a pleasing story that just happened to take place in the age of knights and the sport of jousting. This intro simply allows the viewer to get pumped up for what they’re about to see and have fun with it.

2. Pixels

Any time this song hits it means that stuff is about to get real, and the heroes and villains will be tearing at one another without any thought to what’s going on around them. When this song hits it means that the moment is already tense and is about to get revved up to a new level. And that’s usually when things get interesting.

1. Mighty Ducks 2

Come on, you had to know this would be number one. Queen’s hit song has been on countless soundtracks but this was one of the absolute best of its time. It used the track without any add-ons and it held the feeling of team USA being just desperate enough that they needed to come out and show Iceland what it really meant to square off against the US. It was pee wee hockey, but it was still the pride of the nation at stake. The great thing is that no matter how badly the Iceland players acted there really were no bad guys in this film. It was just two teams going at one another for the pride and honor of their countries.

Listen to the song again at least once or twice and tell me it doesn’t get you pumped and ready to go.
