The Top Uses of Oasis Songs in Movies or TV

Oasis was a popular English rock band that came to prominence in the 90’s and developed from an earlier group called The Rain. Unfortunately the band, while good with each other for a while, would start losing members as the years went on. It was then Noel and Liam Gallagher had an altercation at a live festival behind the scenes that it was generally assumed that things could not be reconciled. It was announced around that same time that the band would be splitting up. The remaining members would become known as Beady Eye but by 2014 would also split.

It’s too bad, they had a few really good hits.

5. The Brothers Grimsby-Cigarettes and Alcohol

In keeping with the ridiculous roles that Sacha Baron Cohen takes on Nobby is about the last person you want to have possession of a firearm or any type of purpose. When he reconnects with his younger brother after nearly three decades of being apart however it becomes an adventure that has no real sense of purpose except to be hilarious and somehow as insane as can possible be imagined as they simply try to survive.

4. Mommy-Wonderwall

This seems like a very messed up movie in which a parent can possibly under Canadian law have their kids admitted without much more reason than because they can’t handle them. Thankfully it’s all fiction and nothing such as this exists, at least not in the form that the film uses. But it is very easy to lose hope when you have to deal with an adolescent that has seemingly no filter and no inclination to be anything but disruptive.

3. The Jonathan Ross Show-My Generation

This was a song originated by The Who but one that has been sung by a great number of bands since then. Oasis puts their own unique spin on it while the keeping to the basic fundamentals of the song. They were able to produce pretty much the same kind of feeling and quality with this track even during a live performance which is pretty cool because a lot of the sound quality tends to get lost in this kind of venue.

2. NCIS-The Boy with the Blues

NCIS has been a popular show now for quite some time and has been changing so rapidly in the last few years that keeping up with and still loving it the same way has been tough. One of the core members is gone after all, and even those members that weren’t there to begin with, such as Ziva, are sorely missed. Abby will apparently be leaving in season 15 and after Tony leaving most recently it’s going to be a humongous blow to the show.

1. Oasis-Don’t Look Back In Anger

Noel Gallagher was heard to admit that he pilfered a lot of work from the Beatles and John Lennon to make this song, but other than that it was a lot of good timing and dumb luck that saw it come to fruition. He didn’t know anyone named Sally apparently and it was just a word that fit where he needed it.

It’s strange how songs come together sometimes.
