The Top Five Ethan Embry Movie Roles of His Career

Ethan Embry is one of those actors you don’t notice all that often until you see him pop up in more than one movie. It’s that ‘aha’ moment that makes you recognize that you’ve seen him before and that he’s actually a really good actor. He’s been a child actor and he’s been acting as an adult, though like I said a lot of people don’t really know who he is. Usually he’s playing the part that might seem disposable but would wreck the movie in some fundamental way if he was to be taken out. He’s the person that’s there almost as a linchpin to keep everything on the straight and narrow but goes unobserved a lot of the time simply because he’s not an imposing or overreaching figure that needs to hog the spotlight.

In other words he’s a supporting actor that can play the lead but usually doesn’t.

5. They-Sam Burnside

This movie is a lot creepier than it’s been given credit for. A group of individuals that are connected by one person have been having night terrors for a good part of their lives. When they finally discover that their terrors are founded on something entirely real the true terror begins and the attempt to discover what they can do to save themselves quickly becomes an effort in futility. Of course the alternate ending is even more horrifying.

4. Vegas Vacation-Russell Griswold

Poor Russ, he grows, he shrinks, he grows, he shrinks. Plus he’s been played by four different actors, of which Embry is the fourth if you count the most recent Vacation movie. Russ is the unwitting and unexpected lucky charm in this movie that somehow defies the odds of having to put three coins into a machine to win a car by just putting in one and winning every time.

3. The Reunion-Leo Cleary

Leo is the kind of guy you steer clear of unless you absolutely need his services. As a bond bailsman however he’s not exactly the friendliest or the most reliable guy. When paired with his brothers he’s just barely counted as a human being since he’s usually out for himself and no one else. But throughout the film he at least has a chance to show his true colors and help his brothers out.

2. Can’t Hardly Wait-Preston Meyer

The thing about Preston man, is that he’s PRESTON. PRESTOONE! Just imagine the stoners talking to Amanda while she’s trying to find out about Preston and you’ll get it. Preston is the guy that somehow let the perfect girl get away and is now attempting to win her over now that she’s been dumped by the most popular guy in school. Problem is, he has no idea of how to speak to her.

1. Dutch-Doyle Standish

Take the most rotten, snobbish, uptight little rich kid you’ve ever known in your life and Doyle would still make him look like a choir boy. That’s how bad Doyle is, he’ll do his best to tear a person down upon first meeting them just because he knows on the surface that he’s just so much better than everyone else. Of course once you get past those first few layers of anger and other garbage then he’s just a scared little kid that needs some attention.

Ethan Embry is still a great actor, and he definitely brings every bit of his talent to each role.
