Young and the Restless fans are never sad when some couples break up, but we are always sad when others do. We are wise enough to know that most people in the soaps just don’t make it with their love and their relationships, but we also know that some couples were just meant to be together. Unfortunately, they don’t all make it in that aspect. Sure, there are some great couples who make it, and they work together so well. There are others, sadly, who just don’t make it. We want to bring you our list of great couples we just feel should have been together. They were — for a while — but they didn’t really make it. Do you have anyone else to add to this list?
Victor and Ashley
Okay, we do struggle with this one just a bit considering we really do love him with Nikki. However, we just have this little feeling that he and Ash were a much better match. He and Nikki are good, but he and Ash are on the same wavelength of just being awful people who totally deserve one another. They were good together. Nikki, on the other hand, is just a hair too nice for him. That’s not to say she doesn’t have her own issues to work through or her own times when she’s a devastating mess, but he and Ash just worked out so much better than we think they did.
On that note, perhaps that’s a wise choice. Ash and Victor might have ended up making too much of a mess, causing too much trouble, and probably sending one another to an early grave. They are too much alike, and that might not have worked out well for them in terms of a romantic relationship. They’re more alike, and that might not be the best match when it all comes down to it. But, that doesn’t mean we don’t have fleeting, longing thoughts that we’d like to see them together. She’s gone now, but we did enjoy watching her spend time with him.
Nikki and Jack
Now, we think that they were the best couple. They are both a little devious and mean when they want to be, and they will do anything to protect what is important to them. However, unlike Ash and Victor, they aren’t inherently deceptive and mean. They’ll do anything to protect the things and the people that they love, but they will not go out of their way to make people miserable just because it seems like the fun thing to do. That’s why they seem to make a much better couple than her with Victor. And that’s where we stand with them. We do think there could be a chance they could spend some much needed time together in the future. They’ve reunited more than once in the past, but that doesn’t mean it ever sticks. She has kids with Victor, and she always goes back to him. While we don’t get it or like it, we do understand she has to make the decisions that protect her family from him. And being with him might be one of the best ways to protect her own family.
Mac and Billy
Okay, so Mac is back and we can only think about how good they were together. She’s back because her husband, JT, has been officially upgraded to a missing person potential murder case, and she has to find out what happened. She was married to him long enough to know that he’s abusive, but she’s back to tell Vickie she might suspect she did this knowing what she knows. And did we notice that Mac and Vickie like to marry the same men? She was with Billy for a very long time. In fact, they were young loves. There was that one time they thought they might be related to one another after being romantically involved since they were nothing but kids, but that’s not the point. The point is that they were great together, and we liked seeing them together. She is the only intelligent woman who can seem to keep him on his feet and keep him calm. No one else can.
