THE BAND IS BREAKING UP
AMC: With limited fuel, food and supplies, everyone from Daryl and Carol to Glenn and Maggie consider splintering off away from the others to try their luck out on their won, an idea rick deftly shoots down.
THE COMICS: The group mentality is definitely bleaker by this point in the AMC series than it was in the book, as people often considered breaking away, but rarely this early. Glenn and Maggie were indeed frequent ponderers of starting a life by themselves, though most often Dale and Andrea pondered taking Allen’s orphaned children to find somewhere to settle.
As for AMC, Andrea’s off making friends in the woods, Allen and his kids don’t exist, and Dale, well…Dale’s dead, baby. Dale’s dead.

M. C. Gainey (Mr Freindly from Lost) would be a perfect Axel
He would! The only problem I could see with that is that M.C. Gainey is almost TOO charming and likeable for a character like Axel, to NOT be the center of attention. I certainly hope they keep some of the prisoner characters when the show heads there in the fall.
I think when the barn finally falls we can see the RV being burnt to a crisp too.
Either way, RIP Dale's RV.
You are correct! Poor lil' junker. Just tell us someone kept that stylish hat of his!
I have a feeling Merle (Daryl's brother) may be at the prison. Maybe even the Governor. Would make for a good plot- especially since he's been jilted by Rick and them and wants to seek some revenge- like cutting off Rick's hand…..
That's my theory as well! We know Merle won't be the Governor himself, but he could definitely be a "right-hand man" of his, and want revenge on Rick with a hand for a hand! Of course, I'm not sure AMC would go through with that story…
I was wondering if possibly there would be some of the older characters from the comics inside the prison- possibly some of the kids or Tyreese and his daughter since they bring up such pivotal moments in the comics. At the same time, I would be disappointed if they replaced the inmates completely, I thought that part of the comic was really amazing!
I wouldn't be terribly surprised if AMC played around with, or ditched the stories regarding the 4 prison inmates. As for Tyreese, I'm reasonably certain most of his character traits were dumped on T-Dogg (especially after seeing him with a hammer last week), and his daughter mainly served to inform the survivors that people got up after death regardless, which they now already know.
Still, one would think the survivors at least find SOME people already at the prison.
I think the reason for no Tyreese is that Shane was kept alive for too long in AMC. Tyreese became Rick's best friend and his righ-hand man in the comics, but Shane was gone by then. T-Dogg is too much of a wuss to be Tyreese, maybe Deryl is supposed to be him going forward, since he is already hooking up with Carol. He will probably dump Carol for Michonne..
@tvkevlance Detected slight reference on 11 made me briefly picture a scott pilgrim/walking dead crossover. 7(million) evil zombies?
